Little Free Library – 21st and Ridgeland

We made it to Chicago! Still don’t have a place to live but we’ve been kindly taken in by friends in Berwyn while we wait to see if we get approved for the apartment we’ve applied for.

As we wandered the streets today we came across this great Dr. Seuss inspired Little Free Library at the corner of Ridgeland and 21st. (Okay, we weren’t wandering so much, more of following our noses to the Turano bread factory on Roosevelt.)

The winning book in here was clearly My Misadventures as a Teenage Rockstar. Act fast! It could still be yours!

For those unfamiliar, Little Free Libraries are great. Basically, people erect these mini-libraries, of various sizes, where people trade books for free.

From their website:

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.
Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds.

Check out this map to see if there are any in your neighborhood. If not, consider starting one!
