To celebrate my fiancee’s birthday, we recently went to Alice and Friends’ Vegan Kitchen on Broadway for the first time. It was delicious. Afterwards we took in the soft dusk by making our way to the lakefront. Ambling around to take full advantage of our prepaid two hour parking we came across this great Little Free Library, painted with the Chicago flag, erected by Edgewater Reads.

On Thorndale near Sheridan, this LFL is a short walk to Lane Beach. A perfect stop along the way to grab a book and set up in the sand. When we visited it had a number of kids books, our favorite of which was Why Don’t You Get A Horse, Sam Adams?

Remember to always keep an out out when you’re exploring the city! You never know when you’ll find a LFL, and you never know what treasures they may hold. And, as always, be sure to check out the official map to see if there are any Little Free Libraries near you!
