CPL – Edgewater Branch

CPL – Edgewater Branch – 6000 N. Broadway

Good morning! Apologies for not posting more, the recent icy cold has forced us inside, but we’re back and exploring all things literary related in the city! Today we’re looking at the Edgewater Branch of the Chicago Public Library.

Located at 6000 N. Broadway, the Edgewater Branch opened in June of 2013, replacing an older branch that had been around since 1973. At a price tag of $13.5 million, the new facility is some 16,300 square feet, 5,300 square feet larger than the old location.

It is two stories, clean, with a nice open layout.

Plus, there’s some great art on the walls and, always a favorite of mine, a puzzle table 🙂

All in all a great community space. Only downside I can see is that it only has a small parking lot off of an alley, so parking might be tricky depending when you go.

Book lovers, don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more great literary things in Chicagoland!
